Daunt Books London

Daunt Books is one of my most favorite bookshops in all of London. (I love Hatchards on Piccadilly too, but will save that for another time!) Its first branch is located in Marylebone (also, my favorite) and they originally specialized in travel books. Most of their books are still organized geographically, but any kid (including both of mine) would vouch for their incredible children books' section; and any cook would be quite impressed with their cookbooks! Daunt also has several branches in other areas of London, as well as Marlow and Essex--but personally, I am exclusively faithful to the Marylebone one. Last but not least, their tote bags are the best.

Daunt Books is currently sending books out from their Marylebone shop, taking orders through their website, over the phone and by email. Royal Mail is not delivering at the usual pace but timings appear to be improving by the day.

They have been posting books on their instagram feed very frequently, and those are the ones they are recommending. They are receiving new books from publishers every day which is also very exciting after such a lull.

I was thrilled to receive some photos of the following books that the staff at Daunt have loved:

Marion Poschmann, The Pine Islands

Joseph Roth, The Coral Merchant

Rosalind Miles, Rebel Women

Souvankham Thammavongsa, How to Pronounce Knife

David Vincent, A History of Solitude
